These are examples 450mm tall or would be if they had railing heads on and are 1250mm long. It follows a simple format, the centre uses the star type part as the centre bar. All drawing should enlarge on clicking for a more detailed view. There are 132 in this series, i used no double parts. This would have increased the total had I of done so. Now it could have easy of been any of the other 15 bars in the 250mm tall series.
This gives a basic idea of what can be achieved, had the railing of been longer there would have been more options to change the spacing and thus create more possibilities. But if you replace the centre with any of the 10 single part bars. You get over 1000 possible combinations. Again i will admit to around 1/3 are not nice designs at least in my opinion, as always i wont say which ones.
The first section only contains the star as centre, and then a different bar design space towards the outer edge.
Two decorative bars
This means on a panel this size, every fifth bar is decorative. You might like this, or you might want something different. We could have used every sixth bar, placing the decoration on the outer edge, but that would prevent us from using S-scrolls. However, I always feel that putting decorations right on the edge of a railing this size looks wrong, though sometimes there is no choice. Another option is to place the decoration two bars in from the end.
Would say i like all of these designs, some better than others. But spacing looks nice and even, they all look symmetrical.
Three decorative bars
Now we move on to adding an extra decorative bar on the 4th bar in from each end. So technically every other bar has decoration. We now start to add a lot of possibilities.
