This wrought iron railing showcases simplicity at its best. It features plain vertical bars with a pair of graceful wrought iron scrolls at the top. Material specifications are as follows: the frame or horizontal bars are constructed from solid steel measuring 30mm wide by 8mm thick. Each upright consists of solid 12mm diameter round steel. The scrolls are crafted from 12mm by 5mm flat steel.
We recommend a minimum clearance of 40mm beneath the railing to ensure sufficient space between the railing and the top wall. This gap serves several purposes: it enhances the overall appearance, prevents the railing from touching the wall—protecting the bottom rail from salt damage in the brickwork—and provides enough room to repaint the underside of the bottom rail when needed.

These wrought iron railings can be crafted up to a maximum theoretical length of 3 metres. For longer panels, additional support is typically required, provided by one or two upright bars that extend below the bottom horizontal bar. This allows the railing to be securely drilled and fixed into the wall. The maximum length also depends on the height of the railing; taller railings are heavier, making them more challenging to handle and install securely.
For longer metal railings, we recommend using a connecting post fixed to the top of the wall. This allows for extended linear lengths to be achieved. Connecting posts are also ideal for walls that are completely flat without a brick pier at the end.
